Tips for Used Car Buyers

Sorry for creating a new thread, i know madami na related sa query ko. Here it goes.

My in-laws are looking for a secondary car (toyota avanza) since limited ang budget for getting a brand new one. So yesterday we started browsing online ads, listed some potential to buy and pinasyalam na din namin.

My questions are:

1. My father in law has a background regarding engines stuff etc. When checking used vehicles (sabi niya yun ha) ang practice niya is while the engine is running, he opens the slot where you pour the engine oil.

-dapat daw walang usok na lalabas
-dapat daw may papahigop na pressure
-dapat daw walang bubuga na oil papalabas

And I'm thinking. Tama ba yung checklist niya for the engine?

Lahat ng tiningnan namin after opening the cap may tumalsik na engine oil. For him red flag na yun.

2. Okay ba bumili sa pre-owned ng toyota? Mas mahal nga but worth it ba sa quality ng vehicles dun sa price difference?

3. May nagustuhan siya kahapon kaso ang issue naman niya is registered sa Naga City pero ang issued plates is manila plates "N" series Possible ba yun?
